Can anyone purchase digital textbooks?

Digital textbooks are available to both Abeka schools and homeschoolers.

How do I obtain digital textbooks?

Digital textbooks are sold on the Abeka website. After the digital textbook is purchased, a redemption code is issued to be redeemed at the VitalSource website. Once you redeem the code on the VitalSource website, you can download your book on the VitalSource app.

  3. Click Create Account.
  4. You have successfully set up your VitalSource account.
  5. Be sure you and your child remember your VitalSource login information. This is how you’ll access your digital textbooks on any device.

Can students access their digital textbooks on multiple devices?

Yes. To see which devices are compatible, go to VitalSource’s Bookshelf Download Page.

With which platforms are digital textbooks compatible?

They’re compatible with the following platforms: Windows 7, 8, and 10, OS X (10.9+), iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and Chromebook.

Will study notes transfer across multiple devices?

Notes and highlights made in Bookshelf Online will sync across to your other computers and mobile devices running Bookshelf. To read more about notes and highlights, go to VitalSource Support.

What are the system recommendations for digital textbooks?

An updated version of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox, and a DSL Internet connection are recommended.

Are digital textbooks offered with the Abeka Academy program?

Digital textbooks aren’t currently available with Abeka Academy. For availability updates, please contact Abeka customer service at 877-223-5226.

Can digital textbooks be reused?

Digital books are licensed for 12 months starting at the redemption date.
